“What is Art?”

I’ve been a lover of art since the earliest of my memories. You think you're talking to an expert about art? Well, not exactly! My definition from art could be completely different from yours.

See, while I may have years of my time, and energy put into studying and creating art, I am no expert, and I believe even if you’re Jackson Pollock, an art historian, or a newbie to the art world, there's still so much to learn from inside each person's perspective.

The art historian may value the great altarpieces of Van Eyck because of his paintings historic value and richness..

Jackson Pollock may have a taste for the more abstract art pieces..

The newbie may not know the difference in value of a line drawing doodle vs a 80x90 oil painting of a realistic landscape..

I do know that my concept of these folks is not the same as yours, or my own.

You pick what you have a taste for. Oil paintings, realism, sculpture, abstraction, graffiti, surrealism, etc. There's an endless amount of styles.

Therefore art is what you make it to be. It's all created and destroyed inside your mind.

However, in case you are wondering about MY specific outlook on the concept of art.. It would be that it is an outlet of creative passage that passed down by our ancestors for a reason. The reason is to grant us expression in a unique form, and have it be a way for others to have a glimpse inside our world, through various brushstrokes of different hues, lights, and shadows.

Thank You for Your Time,
